Cornea, External Eye Disease & Ocular Surface Disorders
Consultation scheduling, insurance coordination and post-op follow-up handled by a dedicated care coordinator.
The cornea and ocular surface work as one system
The ocular surface includes the cornea, conjunctiva, eyelid margins, tear film and tear-producing glands. Disease in any one part can cause redness, pain, watering, fluctuating vision or light sensitivity.
Eye Veda evaluates the complete surface rather than treating symptoms in isolation. This helps distinguish infection from allergy, dry eye from eyelid disease, and routine irritation from a corneal emergency.

Keratoconus
Progressive corneal thinning. Managed with scleral lenses, corneal CXL to halt progression, and DALK transplant for advanced cases.
Corneal Ulcer & Keratitis
Bacterial, fungal and Acanthamoeba infections. Intensive treatment and close monitoring to prevent corneal scarring.
Corneal Transplant (DALK/DMEK/PK)
Layer-specific transplants for keratoconus, Fuchs' dystrophy, bullous keratopathy and post-infectious scarring.
Corneal Scars & Dystrophies
Assessment of Fuchs dystrophy, granular and lattice dystrophy, recurrent erosions and vision-limiting corneal scars.
Corneal Cross-Linking (CXL)
UV-A and riboflavin treatment to stiffen and stabilise a progressing keratoconus cornea. Most effective when started early.
Corneal Injury & Foreign Bodies
Urgent assessment of abrasions, embedded foreign bodies, chemical exposure and trauma affecting the corneal surface.
Ocular surface disorders we diagnose and treat
Dry Eye & Tear-Film Disease
Aqueous-deficient and evaporative dry eye evaluated through tear production, stability, staining and gland function.
MGD & Blepharitis
Blocked meibomian glands and inflamed eyelid margins treated with targeted lid, gland and anti-inflammatory therapy.
Ocular Allergy
Seasonal or persistent allergic conjunctivitis causing itching, redness, watering and surface inflammation.
Recurrent Corneal Erosion
Repeated breakdown of the corneal epithelium, often causing sharp pain on waking and recurrent light sensitivity.
Contact-Lens Complications
Assessment of intolerance, inflammation, infection, hypoxia and corneal injury associated with contact-lens wear.
Pterygium & Surface Growths
Evaluation of conjunctival and corneal surface growths, with monitoring or surgery when vision or comfort is affected.
Tests selected for the condition in front of us
Slit-Lamp Examination
Magnified assessment of the eyelids, conjunctiva, tear film, corneal layers and anterior eye.
Corneal Topography
Maps corneal curvature and shape to detect keratoconus, irregular astigmatism and progression.
Pachymetry
Measures corneal thickness for keratoconus, glaucoma risk assessment and surgical planning.
Anterior Segment OCT
Cross-sectional imaging of corneal layers, scars, lesions and the drainage angle.
Tear-Film & Gland Tests
TBUT, Schirmer testing, staining and meibography classify dry eye and ocular surface disease.
Microbiology When Needed
Corneal scraping and laboratory testing guide urgent treatment for suspected infectious keratitis.
